For over thirty years, our firm has represented injured persons – most commonly victims of medical mistakes. Statistics prove that healthcare errors harm people more frequently than automobile wrecks; they are the third leading cause of death in the United States (behind only cardiac issues and cancer). Yet, few people openly discuss the frequency or severity of what are often preventable injuries.
Medical malpractice cases are often very expensive and difficult. Juries are reluctant to bring back verdicts against physicians even when the evidence against them is over-whelming.
In spite of what we do, we acknowledge that most health care workers work long hours and try to do their very best. Many of their errors are the results of politics and insurance company mandates that make practicing medicine in our era more difficult than before. 80% of malpractice is committed by only 20% of physicians.
In our current healthcare crisis, we want all healthcare providers to know that the members of our firm sincerely value and appreciate their life-saving contributions to society. They do this while risking their own lives and those of their families. They do this without seeking acclaim or notoriety. They do this because they believe in their Hippocratic Oath and because they fully understand their fiduciary duty to their patients. They are certainly deserving of our genuine thanks.
