Over the winter months earlier this year, the law firm of Taylor & Tucker, LLC and Fayette Community Schools, along with another local law firm and the Fayette County Bar Association, conducted “People’s Law School.”
For those who are unfamiliar with the course, “People’s Law School” is a series of classes that are held one evening a week for 5 weeks. People who attend the course are taught various legal topics that cover numerous aspects of the court system. The course was designed to help people become familiar with how the legal system protects and preserves justice and fairness.
Each session was taught by local attorneys and judges, as well as visiting attorneys from the Federal Trade Commission and the State Bar Association and a judge from the State Court of Appeals. The course involves looking at the courts on each level and discussing different areas of the law, such as:
- Personal Injury
- Criminal Law
- Family Law
- Bankruptcy
- Real Estate
- Wills & Estate Law
Our Attorney Brandon Taylor served as moderators and assisted with implementing the programs used by the “People’s Law School.”
